Advanced ChemTech is a leading manufacturer and provider of peptides, organic chemicals, catalysts, reagents, and synthesis equipment to major pharmaceutical/ biotechnology companies, research institutions and universities. Through its nearly 30 year history, Advanced ChemTech has successfully serviced the needs of leading companies with the raw materials and manufacturing expertise they require in order to successfully advance their drug discovery processes. Advanced ChemTech is aggressively pursuing new sales opportunities in the East Coast region of the United States and has identified the need for a seasoned Senior Sales Representative for the territory.
The Senior Sales Representative for the East Coast will be primarily responsible for calling on, servicing and managing the Company’s existing customer relationships, which including pharmaceutical manufacturing/biotechnology companies, research institutions and universities. You will be working out of your home and will need to be very self-motivated and disciplined. The position will include the following responsibilities and tasks:
• Sell the Company’s full line of products and capabilities to its current base of customers
• Open new customer accounts and develop account size.
• Become the point-of-contact with customers for custom product inquiries, quotations and sales orders.
• Identify key accounts and develop key account management plans.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with the customer’s purchasing agents, scientists and research program managers to determine product and service needs, and R&D development programs and interests.
• Report to the Company on industry news, updates and competitor activity in the territory.
• Manage sales performance to an establish quota target/level.
Qualifications for the position include the following:
• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline. Advanced degrees in Chemistry or Business Administration desired but not required.
• Demonstrated track record of sales success and 5+ years experience selling derivative pharmaceutical ingredients (amino acids, reagents, linkers, peptides) at small to pilot plant scale.
• Functional knowledge of organic chemical compounds and manufacturing methods.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of customer contacts – purchasing agents, scientists, program managers, senior operating personnel.
• Experience with ISO and cGMP operating and manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity and ease with using Microsoft Office applications and CRM software (salesforce.com, Saleslogix preferred)
• A self-starting, enthusiastic attitude with a drive to succeed.
The successful candidate should expect to have total compensation in the six figure range after one year.
