"Fmoc-Phe(4-NO2)-OH is used to incorporate a 4-nitrophenylalanine residue into peptides. The Phe(4-NO2) residue can be used as an IR probe (C. Peggion, B Biondi, M De Zotti, et al., J. Pept. Sci. 2013, 19, 246-56) or as the quencher in FRET pairs. Fmoc-Phe(4-NO2)-OH is used to prepare squaric acid derivatives as VLA-4 integrin antagonists. It is also an intermediate used in the synthesis of analogs of kahalalide F." See prices below.
