Fmoc-Trp(Boc)-OH is recommended for solid phase peptide synthesis, especially for the synthesis of peptides containing both arginine and tryptophan. Using Fmoc-Trp(Boc)-OH minimizes this side reaction and produces purer crude peptides in higher yield. Fmoc-Trp(Boc)-OH can be used for the synthesis of analogs of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and various peptides by Fmoc solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS).
